Virtual Walking Tour of Tappan

Take a Virtual Walking Tour of significant American Revolution historical sites in Tappan, NY this Wednesday (9/29) at 7:30p in the Nyack Center. The September Armchair Walking Tour includes the site of British spy John Andre’s trial, imprisonment, and hanging and Rockland County’s oldest building, the De Witt house. Also covered is the Tappan Dutch Reformed Church and the Yost Mobie House where the Orangetown Resolutions were adopted on July 4, 1774.

The program will be presented first at the Nyack Center on Wednesday evening, Sept. 29 at 7:30p and will be repeated the following afternoon, Thursday, Sept. 30 at 2p at the Congers Lake Community Center, in Congers Lake Park.

Professional videographers Janet and Gil Galloway, who have lived in Tappan for over 44 years, will provide a virtual walking tour of their historic village.

The 15th season of “John Scott Armchair Walking Tours” are presented by the Historical Society of The Nyacks and the Friends of The Nyacks.  The program features slide presentations on local history, architecture and related cultural subjects. Bob Goldberg produces the series which is dedicated to the memory of  John  Scott, Rockland County’s great historian.
