Global Rhythm Futbol Fest “kicked off” at the Nyack Farmers Market on June 11, launching a village-wide celebration of global sports and culture and shared public experiences.
Futbol Fest takes place on July 5th from 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and features soccer-themed programming, family entertainment, line dancing, performances, and a food crawl. From June 11 to July 19, the public is invited to gather at one (or more…) of over 20 restaurants to watch the matches together.

Global Rhythms Futbol Fest is sponsored Rockland County and I LOVE NY, and supported by the Nyack Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Visit Nyack, and the Village of Nyack, this day’s festivities will feature family-friendly activities, soccer demonstrations, games for children, music, cultural performances, dancing, and opportunities for visitors to explore Nyack’s internationally diverse restaurant scene.
Casual Fridays at Homebody Books and Toys
Thru Labor Day Weekend, Friday afternoons, 2 – 6 p.m., 6 Park St, Nyack
Drop in for some quiet time reading, listening, or working with our hands, together! Summer Chapter Book promo—buy three new or vintage chapter books before Labor Day, get a fourth vintage book free (after “reporting” on your favorite book in a few sentences or a drawing for display!) Learn a New Craft—Bring a project or purchase select kits at 10% off and work together. Join a Listening Party—Experience a star-studded audio recording of The Hobbit; or create art inspired by hearing aloud the poems of Emily Dickinson (materials fee for beeswax crayons and paper, $20). Gather some friends and call the shop to schedule (minimum 2). Our craft box will also be available for the littles to create (nominal donation). Children 7 and up may stay at the shop without a parent if comfortable.

“Hopper’s Way” Summer Solstice and Anniversary Dinner
Sunday, June 21, 5:30 – 9 p.m., 82 N Broadway (in front of the museum), Nyack
Celebrate the Summer Solstice and Father’s Day as we close North Broadway (between 2nd and 3rd Avenues) to open Hopper’s Way for an unforgettable, open-air community feast and dining experience .
Neighbors, artists, and patrons will gather at a grand, continuous table to honor the riverside village that shaped a young Edward Hopper’s eye and art, and to pay tribute to Win Perry, the legendary preservationist who helped save and restore the Hopper House for future generations. As dusk falls, the streetscape will transform Hopper-inspired façade projections by artist Kris Burns.

Night Hawk concert in the Museum Garden: June 27. Indie band whose acclaimed atmospheric original music is inspired from Hopper’s cinematic imagery. Intimate pre-concert reception will officially unveil the new stage mural alongside projections by artist Kristina Burns.
Rendering River Hook – Sketch & Scribe Mob

“Rendering River Hook” will be a collective landscape appreciation session, rendering the essence of River Hook through words or imagery, guided by Bill Batson. Bring your chair, art supplies and/or writing supplies and set up at an assigned spot along the River Hook Preserve path. Your resulting work will be displayed during the reception the following day. Advance registration and a small fee are required:

Cajun Music and Dance
Sunday, June 28 (Dance Lesson, 4:00pm Dance Party 4:30pm) at The Angel
A special evening with T’Marie & Bayou Juju, a Louisiana dance band from New Orleans bringing an infectious mix of Cajun, Creole, Zydeco, Swamp Pop, New Orleans R&B, and original music rooted in the traditions of South Louisiana. Led by fiddler, vocalist, and songwriter Marie Isabelle, the band serves up a fresh take on Louisiana’s dance music traditions while weaving in original songs imbued with that good juju from the bayou.
Drawing equally from dance hall favorites and contemporary influences, T’Marie & Bayou Juju deliver an energetic, soulful sound that’s joyful, heartfelt, and made for dancing.
Cajun dance lesson at 4:00pm, followed by T Marie & Bayou Juju from 4:30pm – 7:00pm.
Whether you’re brand new to Cajun dancing or a longtime two-stepper, all are welcome on the dance floor.
