This free film festival brings together powerful documentaries and honest, courageous dialogue on the most pressing issues of our time. This is not passive viewing; it’s an invitation to be disturbed, moved, and ultimately galvanized.
Over the course of Friday and Saturday, we’ll screen a curated selection of films confronting the realities that too many Americans live every day and that too many others look away from.

Children’s Shakespeare Theatre Presents The Comedy of Errors

Children’s Shakespeare Theatre brings laugh-out-loud comic energy and slapstick to Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors, as the final production in its 2025–26 Season of Character.
A cast of sixteen young people, ages 10–14, will bring this comic cartoon of mix-ups and misunderstandings to life in four performances. Click here for tickets.

Here you will be transported up to the plateau (sky) where you will enjoy performances, music, eco-education, hands-on crafts, plant walks and blessings; and down to the healing space of the Boathouse on the River (sea) to interact with a living Alter, enjoy guided meditation and breathwork and pre-booked healing sessions. We will close with a fire ceremony.

Voices on the Hudson: Meghan Cary with Clara Gillett

Clara Gillett is a 19-year-old alt-pop artist based between Philadelphia and Miami, blending cinematic soundscapes and confessional lyrics—dreamy like Lana Del Rey, with the edge of The Neighbourhood. On stage, she delivers intimate, electrifying sets with stripped-back vocals, ambient tones, and honest storytelling that feels like a conversation with a friend.

Homebody Books and the Nyack Library present Children of the Night

When world-famous singer Marian Anderson is turned away from a hotel because of her race, she finds an unexpected host in Albert Einstein. What begins as a simple act of hospitality grows into a friendship based on their mutual love of music and commitment to human rights. Featuring a cast of four playing real-life historical figures — each with a unique perspective on how to effect change — this moving play is about courage, justice and our shared humanity.

Bill Batson’s Sketch Mob 250

Sketch Mob 250 will bring artists together in a striking, large-scale act of collective creation to celebrate America 250 and the 25th anniversary of GARNER Arts Festival, in the 266 year-old GARNER Historic District
Artists of all ages and skill levels will spread across the Center’s 14-acre campus, simultaneously capturing its architecture, energy, and history through their artwork.
The registration fee also gives participants entrance to the GARNER Arts Festival on May 16th. Unlike Batson’s past Sketch Mob’s, Each artwork will be digitized and mapped to its exact location using QR codes, allowing future visitors to stand where the artists stood and experience the site through their eyes—an enduring act of preservation and respect.

Garden Club Annual Plant Sale to Benefit Proyecto Faro

South Nyack Historical Walk
Saturday, May 16, 10 a.m., Meet at the gazebo next to the former South Nyack Village Hall, 282 S Broadway, South Nyack
Walk along the picturesque old railway trail from one end of South Nyack to the other with former South Nyack Trustee Andrew Goodwillie.
We’ll discuss the fascinating history of the village, including the arrival and impact of the trains beginning in 1870; the industries and commercial buildings that sprang up alongside the railway; the devastation wrought by construction of the 1-287 Thruway and Tappan Zee Bridge; the firehouse that itself succumbed to fire; the creation of Franklin Street Park; the National Register Ross-Hand Mansion and its famous owners; and lots more!
Handouts will include photographs and maps to help contextualize the history.
Please note: This one-mile walk (round trip) is rated easy and will take place entirely on the improved rail trail. Participants should wear comfortable shoes for walking. Please be sure to bring water and to dress appropriately for the weather. Reading glasses are recommended. The walk is expected to take between one-and-a-half to two hours. Bathrooms are available at either end of the walk. Free on-street parking is available at the start of the walk.

GARNER Arts Festival

GARNER Arts Center presents the 25th Anniversary of GARNER Arts Festival, an extraordinary, multi-sensory arts and cultural destination in the Lower Hudson Valley. Step back into the future for contemporary, immersive art experiences on a landmark pre-Civil War textile factory complex turned arts and artisan campus. This beloved, family-friendly festival celebrates creativity in all of its many forms and will feature countless attractions over the weekend, including children’s activities, live music, local food purveyors, and much more!
Enjoy exploring a myriad of unique factory spaces and alleyways throughout the historic arts district’s 14 acres, and discover multimedia exhibits and installations, hands-on screen printing, live marble sculpting, an Affordable Arts & Hand Craft Market, Open Artist Studios, a 250-person invitational Flash Sketch Mob, a regional high school student art show, and hands-on children’s art workshops.
Paralleling the nation’s “America 250” celebration of Independence, the Festival is proud to showcase several historical exhibits, including Posters of the People, a Works Progress Administration (WPA) exhibit, which will explore how design, government, and community came together to create some of the most iconic public art in America. As a tribute to the Festival’s 25th Anniversary and the former printworks’ storied history and significance within the 19th-century textile industry, there will also be a historical exhibit on view focused on the GARNER Historic District. Demonstrations from both modern Makers as well as time-honored, traditional artisanal handworkers will be happening throughout the weekend as well.
There will be lots of activity all day at the Live Music Stage & Food Court, and the DyeWorks Wine & Coffee Bar will be featuring a variety of cuisine, beer, wine, hard cider, ice cream, and fresh fruit ices. Adjacent to the Food Court are La Redonda Tavern at Round Table Brewery and Hudson’s Mill Tavern, offering pub fare and craft beer.

NYC salsa is making its way to Nyack led by Latin GRAMMY-recognized arranger and musician Luisito Gomez. This NYC-based group is part of a new generation of salsa artists blending the feel of classic salsa romántica with modern production and contemporary energy.
Known for performing with the sound and presence of a full salsa orchestra rather than a smaller lounge-style band, Calle 107 aims to recreate the live dance-floor atmosphere that helped define New York Latin nightlife for decades.
