Nyack Gift 2021

Edward Hopper's bicycle, Illustrated by ©2018 Bill Batson

by Bill Batson

In a time when the only thing that is certain is uncertainty, the familiar is reassuring. In that spirit, the fourth Nyack Gift collaboration features my illustration of Edward Hopper’s wooden-wheeled childhood bike as visual comfort food.

As a testament to the resilience of local small businesses, Nyack Sketch Log, Teagevity, and Nyack Sweets hope to bring some cheer at the end of another challenging year.

The gift boxes include my iconic Hopper’s bike mug and magnet, Anise & Almond Biscotti hand dipped in chocolate from Lisa Chang’s Nyack Sweets and organic Masala Chai loose tea from Preston Powell’s Teagevity. Deluxe boxes contain more gear and goodies.

The project is the brainchild of Josh Wolfe, the founder and owner of Skypunch Creative, a promotional product company that opened an office in Nyack in 2017. “This gift box is like a day in the life of the village, with some of our favorite things to take home.”

Pre-orders on nyackgift.com will allow us to better estimate how many gift sets to assemble. There is a discount for pre-orders before midnite December 10.

Nyack Gift Team 2018

Deliveries start on Thursday, December 9 via mail, and at the Nyack Farmers Market.

When you bring several small brands from a village together in one product, you’re capturing the charm of spending a day in a small town or a farmer’s market, where you discover quality, handmade crafts and foods, and the people who made them. We’ve put that experience in a box.
