Congresswoman Nita Lowey says the GOP Health Plan and the Trump Administration’s proposed budget is bad news for New York State and the Hudson Valley. Hammond’s Highlights

Summer Music In Memorial park is Only a Few Months Away — Mostly Music will be back for another year, offering free summer time concerts in Memorial Park. But this year, there will be a new sponsor. The Nyack Chamber of Commerce will be taking over this event.
Nyack’s business association is looking to revamp Mostly Music and move half of the concerts downtown to Veteran’s Park on Main Street. The Friends Of The Nyacks, a non-profit group which created this event and has been running it for several decades, has decided to turn responsibility for the annual event over to the Nyack Chamber.

TZ Vista Meeting Scheduled — The public is invited to a March 23 meeting of the Village Board in conjunction with the Nyack Planning Board focusing on the waterfront TZ Vista. Is It Spring Yet? (Yes it is.) Special thanks to the DPW for their work helping us all dig out after the Tues March 14 snowstorm. They have been working long hours for several days and deserve a special thank you.
And In Washington…
Congresswoman Nita Lowey last week criticized the administration’s proposed budget and its replacement plan for Obamacare.
Lowey Statement on the Effect of the President’s Budget on New York and the Lower Hudson Valley
March 16 — “Budgets are a statement of values, and it is clear this Administration does not value investments that support hardworking New Yorkers,” said Lowey. “Instead of responsible solutions that will help move us forward, President Trump’s budget savages programs critical to the health, education, and economic security of families in the Lower Hudson Valley.” Source: Lowey.house.gov
Lowey Statement on Congressional Budget Office Analysis of GOP Health Plan
March 14 — “It’s clear why the President and Congressional Republicans were so desperate last week to ram their disastrous health care plan through committee in the dead of night: their plan would take health care away from 14 million Americans in 2018 alone and 24 million Americans in ten years. By 2026, there would be 52 million uninsured Americans.” Source: Lowey.house.gov
