Friday

  • Kiam Records artist Chris Brokaw performs at 6p in the Kiam Records Shop (95 Main St.) and 9p at Prohibition River (82 Main Street).
  • In Time Stands Still, a photojournalist veteran of the Iraq war, sidelined because of an injury, questions her place in the world. See this Tony-nominated play at the Elmwood Playhouse, Fri & Sat at 8p, Sun at 2p, 10 Park St, Nyack.
  • The Nyack High School Drama Club performs The Music Man, Fri & Sat at 8p, Nyack High School Auditorium, 360 Christian Herald Rd.
  • Shades Repertory Theater Company stages Burqa & Rifle, a play about an African American Muslim woman and a White European woman who challenge each others’ paradigms. Fri & Sat at 8p, 64 New Main St, Haverstraw.

  • Carnegie Concert Series Artistic Director Yashar Yaslowitz performs the Life & Times of Chopin. 7:30-9:30p, Nyack Library, 59 S Broadway.
  • Tom Chapin’s Backwards Birthday Party Concert, featuring the Children’s Choir from the Upper Nyack School and a Food Drive to benefit People To People. Presented by ArtsRock, 2p, First Reformed Church of Nyack, 18 S. Broadway.

Sunday

  • Free concert and workshop by the Rockland Jazz & Blues Society. The Rockland Youth Jazz Ensemble speaks on topics aimed at educating audiences to a greater appreciation of jazz. Demonstration and active student participation reveals the art and craft of jazz. 2-4p at The Rockland Conservatory of Music, 45 S Main St, Pearl River.
  • Rockland County YouthFest & Government Day. Come for the chance to interact with the organizations and businesses of Rockland that support young people.
