The Sketch + Scribe Mob Event Captures the Beauty of River Hook
Last weekend, a Sketch + Scribe Mob gathered at River Hook to collectively capture the beauty of the Preserve. Our photographer, Andrea Swenson, was on hand to artistically capture the event.

Last weekend, a group of artists and writers gathered at River Hook, Nyack’s newest open space, for a Sketch + Scribe Mob event to collectively capture the beauty of the Preserve. The event, led by Nyack writer, artist, and activist Bill Batson, who has hosted Sketch Mobs since 2012, is a public art activity where artists (and sometimes writers) create a collective portrait of a landscape that’s enjoyed later. At this event, artists and writers picked a visual prompt, found a spot to draw or write for two hours, then gathered the next day at a reception showcasing their work.
Our photographer, Andrea Swenson, captured the event in a photo shoot. (Scroll down for more photos and a full slide show.)
