There’s always a lot of great things going on at the Nyack Library. It’s a place to check out books, of course, but there’s much more: events for people of all ages, Carnegie Concerts, exhibitions, virtual author talks, films, and other fun and thought-provoking programs. But what should its future look like? And how can your writing be a part of its literary landscape? Here are two ways you can connect with and contribute to the library.
Share Your Thoughts About the Library’s Strategic Plan: Fill Out a Survey The library is developing a new long-range strategic plan, and community input is essential. By sharing your thoughts via a survey, you’ll help guide decisions about the library services, programs, spaces, and future initiatives. It only takes about 5 to 10 minutes to answer some questions, and your input will have a lasting impact. The survey is here.
Share Your Writing: Submit It to the Library’s Lit By the River Anthology If you’re a local writer looking for a place to submit your original, unpublished fiction, nonfiction, memoir piece, or poetry, Lit By the River, the new Nyack Library anthology, may be a great match. The idea is to showcase and celebrate local literary voices. Submissions are open to anyone who lives in the Nyacks, Valley Cottage, Grand View-on-Hudson, and Upper Grand View-on-Hudson: up to 900 words for fiction, nonfiction, or memoir — or three to five poems. The deadline for submissions is August 1. For more details and to submit your writing, click here.
