The Great Nyack SnapShop

Saturday, November 1, 12:00-2:00pm, Fresh Market, 119 Main St, Nyack

This Saturday, thousands of our friends and neighbors are going to lose their SNAP benefits, denying them basic food assistance that they rely on. To help them get through this difficult time, the Village of Nyack is partnering with People to People, the Nyack Branch of the NAACP, The Nyack Chamber of Commerce and Nyack Fresh Market for a special event called “The Great Nyack SnapShop.”

What is the SnapShop? It’s simple – we’re inviting everyone to come down to the Fresh Market on Main Street in Nyack on Saturday from 12:00-2:00pm to buy a bag or two of groceries that will go directly to People to People for those in need. It’s that simple. Come down, buy some groceries using lists that we’ll provide you, and then put the bags in our delivery van so we can drive it over. Of course, if you’d rather stop by and bring a check, or food from your pantry, that’s fine too!

We welcome everyone to give what they can, but Fresh Market will generously offer a 5% discount for anyone who spends more than $100.

So come join us! We’ll have some fun, clean out some shelves, give some business to our local downtown grocery store, and help people who depend on those SNAP benefits. A great way to spend some time on a Saturday afternoon.
