36th Annual Nyack Chamber of Commerce Halloween Parade

Don your most daring costume and join us in Nyack for a frighteningly fun Halloween Parade celebrating The 50th Anniversary of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show played in Nyack for 18 years and is the longest running movie in cinema history. A sceening of the film will follow the parade in the Hezekiah Easter Veterans Square parking lot.

Historic Oak Hill Cemetery Tour

Bill Batson and Mike Hays will lead a 90-minute tour of Nyack’s historic Oak Hill Cemetery on October 26 at 11:00am. (The weather is looking good!) Visit the gravesites of some of Nyack’s most famous citizens, including Edward Hopper, Carson McCullers, Joseph Cornell, Helen Hayes, Ben Hecht, Nyack Police Officer Waverly (Chipper) Brown – Brink’s Robbery victim. In addition, we will look at some of the most artistic and curious Oak Hill gravestones
While the tour guides share some history, be prepared to enjoy some of the finest scenery Nyack can offer, especially in this colorful autumnal Halloween season.

Edinburgh Fringe Festival Meadows Award Information Session

Come hear about the largest performing arts festival on the planet: the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Meadows Award to help artists of Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, Asian and other people of color from around the world in bringing their work to the Fringe at Summerhall Arts, a leading Arts Institution in Edinburgh. This informative session is geared also to spread the word around.
- Eligibility: The award is open to all artists of colour from any country.
- Purpose: To support an artist or company to present their work at Summerhall during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe
- The Meadows Award provides encouragement, mentorship and financial support for BIPOC Artists in bringing their show to The Edinburgh Fringe Festival at Summerhall Arts.
- The Meadows Award is designed to provide vital opportunities for underrepresented artists, supporting not just their participation in the Fringe, but also championing diversity, equality, and inclusion within the arts.
- Summerhall Arts Applications for the Edinburgh Festival launch at the start of November
- Refreshments will be served.

Phantom Fundraising Feast Followed by Film

The talented chefs of Flours Pasta & Bakeshop will serve a frighteningly flavorful meal in an eerie Paris opera setting, before the screening of the original “Phantom of the Opera.”
This fundraiser for The Angel Nyack help preserve a historic building, nurture the arts, and sustain Soup Angels.

Celebrate Halloween in a spooky historic church with live organ music! We’ll be screening the restored 1925 Phantom of the Opera, the classic silent movie starring Lon Chaney with live music by Ben Model, silent film accompanist, historian and Resident Organist at the Library of Congress. He’ll be playing on our historic Peragallo Organ.
Expect some bonus live music and projections for a real Halloween treat.
