The Village of Nyack and its NY Forward Local Planning Committee (LPC) invite residents, businesses, and community stakeholders to provide feedback on potential downtown improvement projects through the NY Forward program using an online survey.

The survey will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about the scope of the project and to share your thoughts about how much each potential project would benefit downtown Nyack and any additional thoughts you have about the project and its impact. The survey will be available until 11:00pm on November 2. There are currently 15 projects under consideration by the LPC. Your feedback will help the LPC evaluate projects and determine which projects to recommend to New York State for funding. The 15 projects under consideration include:

• Rezone Nyack Gateway into a Mixed-Use District to Encourage New Development
• Enhance the Safety and Appearance of the Gateway Underpass to Downtown Nyack
• Construct Housing and a Training Facility for the Nyack General Fire Protection Company #2
• Renovate the Edward Hopper House Museum and Study Center to Expand Programming
• Modernize the Elmwood Community Playhouse
• Renovate the Angel Nyack Sanctuary Space to Expand Use for Arts and Events Programming
• Enhance the Broadway Commercial Corridor with Lighting
• Restore the Exterior of the Historic John Green House to Support Future Reactivation
• Activate the Waterfront by Constructing a Restaurant and Open Space
• Renovate the Nyack Center to Enhance Use of the Auditorium
• Create a Mural on the Rockland County Pride Center to Celebrate the History of Nyack
• Construct a Second-Floor Expansion with Outdoor Dining at Maura’s Kitchen
• Improve and Restore Downtown Buildings with a Small Project Fund
• Connect Downtown Nyack and Boost Tourism with a Comprehensive Branding, Marketing, and Wayfinding Initiative
• Paint Murals in the Downtown to Reflect Nyack’s Unique Character

The LPC is scheduled to meet on November 5, 2025 at 5:00pm at Village Hall to discuss the projects and the feedback received. That meeting time and location is subject to change. This will be the final meeting of the LPC for the NY Forward process. Please check the Nyack NY Forward website https://www.nyacknyf.com/ for updates.
