Savanna and Steep, a friendly, flavorful new bistro is now operating out of The Angel Nyack arts and events space on South Broadway, offering a unique (to Nyack) afternoon tea experience.
The “heartchild” of Sonya Burnham, who comes from a banking, consulting and healthcare background, Savanna and Steep was created to “celebrate connection — inspired by her British and Guyanese roots, a love of fine tea, and the joy of unhurried conversation,” according to their website.
Savanna and Steep is offering afternoon tea Thursday through Sunday Sept. 6. Sunday service at the bistro features live jazz music. Burnham recommends booking a reservation online.
On Sunday, August 17, service featured plenty of smiles and conversations, as well as live jazz from the John Smith Trio, with John Smith on guitar, James Preston on keyboard, and Leroy Chisom on drums.
Fortunately, our tea totaling photographer Andrea Swenson steeped herself into the new lively but serene scene, in our latest Photo Shoot! (Scroll down for more photos and a full slideshow.)
