Nyack Street Fair

Get ready for the ultimate shopping and dining day at the Nyack Famous Street Fair. It is a perfect summer event with over three hundred exhibitors from five states, with an excellent selection of arts and crafts, new retail items, unique gifts, home décor and festival foods.
Shoppers can view a wide selection of handmade items including pottery, art, hand crafted jewelry, clothing, soaps, candles, photography, fiber to woodworkers, mixed media and more will be on display. Also, great retail booths featuring apparel, jewelry, children’s, garden items, toys, signs, home décor offer a great variety of unique shopping experiences.
Festival food favorites will be on hand with all kinds of delicious food and drinks including Cousins Lobster truck, empanadas, Italian, Greek, Jamaican, Latin, Thai, Mexican, Zeppole’s, American, and more. Rockland Riverway Trail Walking Tours

This summer, Rockland County is hosting in-person walking tours along different segments of the Rockland Riverway Trail to gather input from residents and the community to shape the future design of the Trail.
- Piermont – Grand-View-on-Hudson Route (Segment 3): Wednesday, July 16
- Stony Point – Route 9W Route (Segments 8 & 9): Thursday, July 17
- Haverstraw – Stony Point Route (Segments 6 & 7): Wednesday, July 23
Please register here to book your spot for a walking tour. When you register, you can select tickets to as many segment tours as you’d like to attend. After registering, you’ll receive more detailed information on the meeting location before the start of each tour via email.

Flash Sketch Mob and Poetry in Place at River Hook

Saturday: Bill Batson’s Flash Sketch Mob returns as part of the Friends of River Hook’s Upstate Art Weekend activities. The historic buildings, ample trees, compelling sculptures and Breathtaking vistas will be captured for posterity by dozens of artists of all skill levels. Come to make art and watch art being made!
Member’s of River Hook’s community partners, the Edward Hopper House, Nyack Art Collective and Nyack Urban Sketchers may participate at a discounted rate.
Free to the public not a part of the mob! The resulting artwork will be displayed during the poetry event the following day. Registration is required to participate in the Flash Sketch Mob for a small fee to cover project expenses:

Bring your chair and art supplies and set up at an assigned spot along the River Hook Preserve path. Dress for the season (weather and ticks).
Sunday: Poems of Place with Featured Readers takes place on July 20 at 4:00pm. The poetry event will consist of readings on the theme of place from All Ways Writing Collective Writers, emceed by Lily Greenberg. No registration or fee required.
Some of the poets will use the Flash Sketch Mob assignments for inspiration.

Hike the Hook Like Hopper

Guided by Bob Stien, Tom Perry, and Jeremy Cazes, walk shaded trails and catch glimpses of the Hudson River glistening below on paths once explored by Edward Hopper himself.
Bob Stien is passionate about the great outdoors. As an environmental educator he is committed to inspiring others to respect and appreciate all that is found in natural settings. He is on the board of the Friends of Rockland Lake and Hook Mountain. He is one of the founders of the New York Fathering Conference.
Tom Perry is a life-long resident of Nyack, with an interest in nature and local history. He taught Science at Nyack High School for 33 years, and has led many hiking trips.
Jeremy Cazes is a key team member in Edward Hopper House’s Visitor Service, and an avid explorer of Rockland County’s vast places to hike.

This July, Rockland County will be hosting two community meetings, one virtual, and one-in person, to gather input and share information on the Rockland Riverway Trail.
During these community meetings, you’ll be able to:

- Ask questions to the project team about the trail, including segments or priority areas you find important
- Learn about next steps in the trail design process
