Inspired By Surroundings, Nyack Sketch Mob Takes on River Hook

See local artists stretch their skills at River Hooks for the annual Flash Sketch Mob event in our latest in-depth photo essay.

Bill Batson’s Flash Sketch Mob returned as part of the Friends of River Hook’s Upstate Art Weekend activities on Saturday, July 19. (Editor’s note: Bill Batson is the executive director of Nyack News & Views)

More than a dozen local artists of various skill levels used River Hook’s historic buildings, ample trees, compelling sculptures and breathtaking vistas as inspiration.

The resulting artwork was displayed and used as a muse during the poetry event the following day, Sunday, July 20.
