Hundreds of boisterous and peaceful protesters lined the Four Corners intersection of Route 59 and Middletown Road on June 14 as part of a nationally coordinated protest against what organizers believe are the Trump administration’s anti-democratic policies.
Later in the day, Trump held a lengthy military parade to celebrate the Army’s 250th birthday (and his own 79th) in downtown Washington, DC, the first military parade in the nation’s capital since 1991.
Protesters warned that Trump’s policies and actions were leading the country down a dangerous path.
“The Trump administration is mounting an unconstitutional and unprecedented power grab,” 19-year-old Nanuet resident Edgar Guerra told lohud (please read for more in-depth reporting on this story). “As a citizen of this great country, this is all I can do. This, and vote.”
Of course, our royally awesome photographer Andrea Swenson was there to document all the local activism for our latest Photo Shoot! (Scroll down for more photos and full slideshow)
