22nd Annual JCC Jewish Film Festival

Ukrainian Film Weekend and Screening of 76 Days Adrift at the Lafayette Theatre

Ukrainian Film Weekend, is a three-day cultural celebration will showcase nine acclaimed films that honor Ukraine’s cinematic artistry, strength, and heritage.
With 100% of ticket sales donated to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, this is a meaningful moment for local audiences to engage with international stories that matter.

Special screening of 76 Days Adrift, a gripping new documentary from Executive Producer Ang Lee, directed by Joe Wein, and featuring a haunting score by Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump. The screening will include an in-person introduction and Q&A with Executive Producer Robert Sennott, who helped bring survivor Steven Callahan’s 76-day ordeal lost at sea to screen in breathtaking, emotional detail.
This is a rare opportunity to cover two culturally rich, emotionally resonant film events right in the Hudson Valley—with access to a producer who can speak to the human stories behind the survival.

Fresh Market Grand Re-Opening

Seven weeks after a public meeting to engage their customers and the broader community at Nyack Village Hall and the review of over 500 electronic surveys by residents and shoppers, Nyack Fresh Market will unveil changes which include a wider product selection, better store organization, discounts, kosher and organic areas, extended hours, and a new mural by NyackNewsAndView’s own Bill Batson.

Because of forecasted inclement weather, River Hook’s Arbor Day observance will take place on April 27th.
New sculpture, new trees, new poetry, with a poetry reading by Anupama Amaran,
a Haring House Open House, and special guests – the Summit School goats!
Event will commence at the 611 N Midland entrance at 11:00am.

Because of forecasted inclement weather, Hope Wade’s Fashion and Dog show has been postponed. Watch this space for the rescheduled day and time.
Dogs and Fashion on Broadway show in Nyack, bringing together local businesses, dog owners, and the community, pets walking the runway in matching outfits, alongside models showcasing participating stores.
Dogs will be available for adoption.

The ArtsRock Annual Fundraising Gala featuring John Turturro In Conversation with Elliott Forrest

Emmy-award winning actor JOHN TURTURRO will be the featured guest at the 2025 ArtsRock Gala. He is the veteran actor of stage, television and some of the most acclaimed films over the last decades, including The Big Lebowski, Do the Right Thing, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Quiz Show, Miller’s Crossing, Barton Fink, Jungle Fever, Five Corners, and The Batman.
Turturro has directed six films, including Mac, which won the Caméra d’Or at Cannes. On stage, Turturro won an Obie for Danny and the Deep Blue Sea and appeared in The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, End Game and Sabbath’s Theater. On television, Turturro won an Emmy for his role on Monk and starred in HBO’s The Night Of and The Plot Against America. He is currently seen on season 2 of Apple’s series Severance.
Mr. Turturro will discuss his life and career with Peabody award-winning Broadcaster, Producer and ArtsRock Executive Artistic Director, Elliott Forrest.

Join The Center for Safety & Change for an intimate evening of inspiration and reflection as we honor and support champions of our cause who stand in solidarity with all victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and other crimes.
Remember, April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), a time when Center for Safety & Change staff work tirelessly to both support victims and survivors and raise public awareness about sexual violence.

Inspired! 2025

People who create are inspirations to us all. But what inspires them? Find out at Rivertown Film’s Inspired! on Saturday, May 3. Support our future by attending our signature fundraising event.
On May 3, sixteen local artists in varied disciplines, including our own Bill Batson, share the sources of their inspiration, each using ten slides and twenty seconds per slide to explain them. Join us for a fast-paced night of creativity and enjoy the many ways that artists find inspiration. The doors open at 7:30 and the program begins at 8:00. Arrive early for complimentary hors d’oeuvres and to give yourself time to look over our silent auction items and raffles. A second round of food and beverages will be available when the Inspired performers have finished.
