Historical Society Fundraising Jazz Concert
On Friday, September 6 at 7:15pm, the Historical Society of the Nyacks will hold their annual fundraiser at the Nyack Center. The evening’s Jazz theme is borrowed from their current exhibition.
Jazz happens to be not only a distinctly America art form, but a uniquely Nyack-ian passion. The Office Restaurant on Main Street (now Olde Village Inne) reigned as the *spot* for the honeyed notes of saxophones and old time crooners. The Nyacks have housed and hosted an impressive amount of jazz musicians, including but not limited to Hildred Humphries, Bert Hughes, Buddy Christian, Bobby Parks, Tito Puente and more…
The fundraiser will feature a performance of an all-star sextet including Steven Bernstein, David Budway, Erik Lawrence, Mark Patterson, Don Falzone, and Ben Perkowsky. Guest artist – Jack DePietro
There will be dancing and refreshments. Click here for tickets
