Sigourney Weaver Headlines ArtRock Gala
ArtsRock welcomes Celebrity Guest Sigorney Weaver to their 2024 Gala on Saturday April 6th at 7pm at the First Reformed Church of Nyack, 18 South Broadway.
The Golden Globe and Grammy winning, Oscar and Tony nominated actress rose to fame starring as Ellen Ripley in Ridley Scott’s science fiction film Alien (1979). She reprised her role in James Cameron’s Aliens (1986), for which she received her first Academy Award nomination and again in Alien 3 (1992) and Alien Resurrection (1997). The character is regarded as a significant female protagonist in cinema history. She reunited with Cameron in Avatar (2009) and Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), two of the highest-grossing films of all time. She also played Dana Barrett in the Ghostbusters films. In 1988, Weaver received Academy Award nominations as well as Golden Globe Awards for her roles in Gorillas in the Mist and Working Girl. She won the Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album as narrator of the book Earth (The Book) in 2010.

Book Launch: Ryan Cahill’s Too Late to Turn Back Now: Sunday April 7th, 2024 @ 4:00PM – 5:00PM
Ryan Cahill grew up in Nyack, New York. He has always been an enthusiastic storyteller and after many years of people suggesting, “you should write a book,” here is his first, Too Late To Turn Back Now. When he’s not writing or reading, Ryan’s fast-forwarding through the Yankee game at midnight or driving his kid somewhere, hopefully with the top down. Like most of us, he is a work in progress. Ryan has three daughters, each one his favorite.

Morning Music Club presents Madison String Quartet concert “Harmony Through Time”
The Madison String Quartet, praised for its energetic performances and inventive programming are excited to celebrate Morning Music Club’s 100th anniversary year. They will perform classical masterpieces from past and present on Saturday, April 6 from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
