Nyack Library Book Sale

Bibliophiles near and far should flock to the Friends of the Nyack Library book sale, Saturday, November 4, 10:00-4:00pm (Early Bird 9:00am-10:00am) and Sunday, November 5, 12:00pm-4:00pm. Early bird special on Saturday from 9:00 – 10:00am)

Admission $20 plus purchase of materials.

The Friends of the Nyack Library are volunteers who love books and who appreciate the role of the library. In sharing their love of books and understanding the vital part the library plays in the community, their goal is to reach out in a variety of ways to enhance library services.

Nyack Library is located at 59 South Broadway.

ArtsRock Presents Carnival of the Animals and The Emperor’s New Clothes

This exciting new production is a sensory friendly experience featuring music, shadow puppets, beautiful imagery and stories premiers on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 2pm at the Theater at Old Nyack High School, 131 N. Midland Ave.

Especially designed to welcome neurodiverse audiences and produced in collaboration with Jeffrey Friedberg’s Music For Life and made possible by a grant from Arts Council of Rockland and ArtsWestchester, this fun and imaginative afternoon for all the family!

A virtual premier of Mountain Lion Healing Film

A virtual premier of Mountain Lion Healing Film Introduction, by Brooklyn Demme will take place on the TurtleGang youtube channel, with a live panel to follow. This introductory film combines fictional storytelling with footage of real sacred elements as well. The leader of TurtleGang (and this film) is Norris War Turtle Branham, Council Member of the Sandhill Band Lenape & Cherokee Indians (cc’d).

On Saturday, November 18 at 7:30 pm at The Nyack Center, Brooklyn Demme will curate an evening of film clips and discussions about his father, Jonathan Demme . The program is sponsored by Rivertown Film.
