Rockland election updates: Lawler wins #NY17, Weber wins #SD38

It’s has been an eventful midterm election in Rockland and nationwide. Here’s a quick summary of the results:

U.S. Congress, NY17

Michael Lawler (R) defeated Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D). Final votes are still being counted but the race has been called for Lawler, and Maloney has conceded.

NY Sen. District 38:

Bill Weber (R) defeated Elijah Reichlin-Melnick (D). Final votes are still being counted but Reichlin-Melnick conceded on Wednesday.

Unofficial results (100% precincts)
Bill Weber (R): 50, 380 (51.1%)
Reichlin-Melnick (D): 46,827 (48.1%)

NY Assembly:

96: Ken Zebrowski defeated Brett Yagel (58-42% with 90% reported)
97: John McGowan defeated Eudson Tyson Francois (66-34% with 59% reported)
98: Karl Brabenec defeated Bruce Levine (64-36% with 66% reported)
