The Villages: Back to Business

This week in the villages: The kids are back in school, the summer is winding down, and the Villages are getting back to business. The Village of Nyack Planning Board, the South Nyack Board of Trustees, and the Upper Nyack Architectural Review Board will all meet. Public hearings for the Villages of Nyack and Upper Nyack are scheduled for later this month. Paving in Nyack is scheduled to continue on Wednesday  and possibly Thursday.

The Nyack Business Council will hold a meeting via Zoom today (Mon, Sept 13, 2021) at 4p.

Milling and Paving This Week

Milling and Paving is scheduled to continue on Wed, Sept 15, 2021 and possibly on Thurs, Sept 16, 2021. If you have any questions regarding paving, please contact the Department of Public Works at dpw@nyack-ny.gov or call 845-358-3552. Notice of Public Hearings

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Nyack will hold a public hearing on Thurs, Sept 23, 2021 at the Village Hall, 9 N Broadway, at 8p to consider adopting a local law to amend the Zoning Code Chapter 360 – 3.2 with respect to Use-Specific Standards for Solar Energy Collectors. It will also hold a public hearing on Thur, Sept 23, 2021 at 8:30p to consider a local law to amend Section 140-15 of the Code of the Village of Nyack, entitled “Building Permit, building construction and other associated fees”, as pertains to the fees charged in connection with building permit applications and other building department fees. A full copy of the text of proposed amendments to the Nyack Village Code may be reviewed at the office of the Clerk of the Village of Nyack, 9 N Broadway, during regular business hours. All persons interested shall have an opportunity to be heard at the Public Hearing at the time and place aforesaid. Persons may appear in person or by agent.

Temporary Bus Layover Downtown

Due to the construction of the supermarket at the Riverspace building on Main St, there will be a temporary layover for the displaced busses on Cedar St, the west side of the street adjacent to Veterans Park. This will be in effect until Oct 18, 2021.

Village of South Nyack

Village of Upper Nyack

The Architectural Review Board will meet tonight (Mon, Sept 13, 2021) at 6p.

Notice of Public Hearings

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Upper Nyack will hold a regular meeting including public hearings on Thurs, Sept 23, 2021 at 7:30p to consider the adoption of proposed Local Law # 8 of 2021, the Extension of Temporary Moratorium on commercial or residential land use applications for property located in the office business (OB) district, laboratory office (LO) district and the R-4 residential district that abuts the 9W corridor and the adoption of proposed Local Law # 9 of 2021, Extension of duration of the temporary moratorium on commercial or residential special use permits and special use permit renewal applications. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Village Board of Trustees will not be meeting in person. In accordance with Chapter 417 of the Laws of 2021 signed by the New York State Governor Kathy Hochul suspending certain provisions of the New York State Open Meetings Law, the meeting will be held via videoconferencing, and a transcript will be provided at a later date. The public will have the opportunity to see and hear the meeting live and provide comments via Zoom. A meeting agenda will be posted on the Village’s website. Save the Date – The Countdown to 150 Kickoff

Upper Nyack is turning 150 in 2022. The initial event, the Sculpture Path opening, will be held on Sat, Sept 25, 2021 from 11a-1p at the River Hook Preserve, 626 N Broadway. There will be music, guided tours, history talks, and refreshments.
