This week in the villages: The Village of South Nyack will hold a Public Hearing on the draft of the South Nyack Dissolution Plan on Wednesday and all residents are encouraged to attend. Rockland County is asking residents, businesses, and community based organizations to take a short survey to help determine how best to utilize the $63.18 million that Rockland will receive from the American Rescue Plan. The summer concert series continue in Nyack, Orangetown, and Clarkstown. Orangetown will screen its weekly family movie. The Town of Clarkstown is holding a blood drive at Town Hall.

The Nyack Business Council will hold a meeting via Zoom today (Mon, July 19, 2021) at 4p.

There will be a special Board of Trustees meeting today (Mon, July 19, 2021) at 6:30p to award the Broadway Streetscape Project under the New York State Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) under PIN 8761.28.

The Architectural Review Board will meet on Wed, July 21, 2021 at 7p to consider requests for signage, a new deck, exterior changes, for window replacement and deck repair, for new construction, to replace rear decks with a four season room and second floor deck, to construct a three story apartment building in the same footprint as an existing structure, to install an awning, to replace siding and windows, and to demolish existing buildings and fuel pump canopys and relocate on site. Music on the Hudson

Nyack Park Conservancy’s Music on the Hudson series continues in Memorial Park on Tue, July 20, 2021 at 7p with Frankie Dee. Bring your blankets, chairs, and a picnic dinner, and come out to enjoy the music with your friends, family, and neighbors. The series continues every Tuesday through August 3.

Summer Food Program

Just a reminder: Nyack’s Summer Food Program is offering FREE breakfast and lunch to ANY child under 18 each weekday through September 3. There are two locations: Waldron Terrace and The Nyack Center. There is no sign-up, no application, no income requirement, and no identification needed. Masks are required.

Draft Dissolution Plan Public Hearing

There will be a public hearing on the draft of the South Nyack Dissolution Plan on Wed, July 21, 2021 at 7p at Living Christ Church, 151 S Broadway. The Village Board will then have 60 days to amend and adopt the plan. The draft of the South Nyack Dissolution Plan may be found on labergegroup.com. All residents are encouraged to attend this hearing and to take the opportunity to submit your comments on the draft dissolution plan. If you are unable to attend, you may email your comments to:  jill.schwarz@southnyack.ny.gov before 12p on Tue, July 20, 2021. This hearing will be video recorded and posted on the village website for public viewing.

The survey will be open until Sun, July 25, 2021 and will be available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Yiddish.
