Weekender Recommendations: Toni Morrison Retrospective

by Visit Nyack

The life of local celebrity and Nobel prize-winning author Toni Morrison is re-examined in this exhibit curated by local novelist, Brenda Ross. The exhibit covers a refreshing set of Morrison’s life lessons offering a glimpse into her less well-known work, including her insights on the creative process, Black women and feminism, and capturing ‘the Black voice.’ Learn how she usually begins her novels at its end, her opinion about writer’s block, and how writing is similar to acting—you become that character, and much more.

This is the first exhibit of the Historical Society of the Nyacks’ new museum on the first floor of the DePew Building at 50
