Weekender Recommendations: Piermont Farmers Market Opens for Summer Season

by Valley Area Network

The Piermont Farmers Market, which has been operating at the M&T Bank parking lot for winter and early spring has been given permission to move to nearby Parelli Park and will run on Sundays from 10a-3p through November 21. The scenic park is located on the Hudson with terrific views and lots of shade.

“We are very pleased that the Village of Piermont has chosen The Valley Area Network to be operators of the farmers market and has allowed us to use this beautiful park,” says Joe Serra, market manager, Piermont resident, and co-founder of the organization that runs the market. “The location is outstanding. Unlike most markets that operate in parking lots, we are very fortunate to be in such a scenic environment with shade and breezes from the river,” says Serra.

The market will have several new vendors and returning vendors with lots of organic produce.

The Valley Area Network (VAN), is a non-profit organization located in Piermont, NY dedicated to advancing and promoting the appreciation and awareness of local artists and artisans, including farmers and chefs of the Hudson Valley specializing in organic and wholesome food. VAN has operated “The SOUK” Farm Market and Artisan Bazaar, 2019 Rockland Arts Festival, and is in its third year of operating the Piermont Farmers Market.
