The Villages: Spring Fling Promenade

This week in the villages: On Sunday, streets will be closed in downtown Nyack for the first Nyack Spring Fling Promenade Sunday of the year. Come out and support the local restaurants and shops and stroll sans-traffic. South Nyack is holding a public hearing on their tentative 2021-22 budget and Upper Nyack is holding a public hearing on the proposed noise law.  And Friday is the last day to place an order for a Military Tribute Banner in the Town of Orangetown.

The links to make appointments will remain on the COVID-19 webpage to make it more accessible for residents to book new appointments whenever they become available and when cancelations occur. Village of Nyack

The Nyack Business Council will hold a meeting via Zoom today (Mon, Apr 12, 2021) at 4p.

Today (Apr 12), the Planning Board will consider an application for tree removal, an application to construct a patio and drywell, various site plan applications including one for the construction of a mausoleum at Oak Hill Cemetery, one for the construction of a front porch, and one for proposed development, a zoning code amendment to permit rooftop dining, and for required variances associated with having a shed in the front yard. Nyack Spring Fling Promenade Sunday

Sun, Apr 18, 2021, is the first Nyack Spring Fling Promenade Sunday of the year. Downtown Nyack will close the streets to traffic from 10a to 5p to allow for strolling, shopping, and dining. Don’t forget to get your spring edition Nyack Fan Card valid from Apr 1 through June 30, 2021 and receive discounts at 15 participating restaurants and shops. Village of South Nyack

The Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on the tentative 2021-2022 budget for the Village of South Nyack at the regularly scheduled board of trustees meeting on Tue, Apr 13, 2021. Read the full agenda at Southnyack.ny.gov before Zooming into the meeting at 7:30p.

The Planning Board will meet on Wed, Apr 14, 2021 at 7:30p.

Village of Upper Nyack

The Architectural Review Board will meet tonight (Mon, Apr 12, 2021) at 6p. Read the full agenda at uppernyack-ny.us before Zoom-ing into the meeting.

Public Hearing on Noise Law of the Village of Upper Nyack

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Upper Nyack will hold a public hearing on Thurs, Apr 15, 2021 at 7:30p to consider the adoption of a proposed Local Law, the Noise Law of the Village of Upper Nyack, regulating unnecessary noise within the Village of Upper Nyack. This law will also be known as Local Law #5 of 2021. The full text of the proposed law is available on uppernyack-ny.us.

The meeting will be held via videoconferencing, and transcripts will be provided at a later date. The public will have the opportunity to see and hear the meeting live and provide comments. To access the meeting an ID# and password may be found on uppernyack-ny.us. Comments and questions can also be provided via email before the meeting to Carol G. Brotherhood, Village Clerk at village.clerk@uppernyuack-ny.us.

Military Tribute Banners

COVID-19 Vaccine Truck

For those still looking to be vaccinated, the Town of Orangetown is working to bring a COVID-19 Vaccine Truck to Town Hall. To do so, the town needs to guarantee at least 60 people (maximum 100) be vaccinated. If you are interested, please send an email to Supervisor@Orangetown.com. Please do so as soon as possible, as it is on a first come first serve basis.

Congers Lake Memorial Park Playground Re-Opens

The playground at Congers Lake Memorial Park has re-opened and has been upgraded by the town with new and accessible swings, slides, musical instruments, spring rockers, climbers, adult exercise equipment, a sun awning, safety surfacing, new landscaping and walkways for accessibility.

Clarkstown Recreation is Offering Personal Training

Learn more and meet the trainers at a Meet and Greet on Tue, Apr 13, 2021 at 7p at Street Community Center, 31 Zukor Rd, New City. The Meet and Greet is free, but pre-registration is encouraged via community pas or at 845-639-6200.

Military Tribute Banners

If you have a loved one who has served or is currently serving in the military, consider honoring them with a military tribute banner. The banners will be displayed on the light posts in the various hamlet centers from Memorial Day to Veterans Day. The banners are a small way to acknowledge the sacrifice they have made serving the community and our country. The deadline to sponsor a banner is Apr 28, 2021. The cost to sponsor is $150. Yard Waste Pick Up

The Clarkstown Highway Department has started its Yard Waste Pick Up Program for the spring 2021 season. Information about proper waste placement and a schedule may be found on town.clarkstown.ny.us.
