This week in the villages: It’s a quiet day at village and town halls near Nyack with closings and transit changes for the Presidents’ Day federal holiday. But later in the week there will be public hearings on local laws in Upper Nyack, a Police Reform Committee meeting in Orangetown, and an informational meeting for Rockland Community Power. The Nyack Community Garden is accepting applications for new gardeners until Sat, Feb 22. And the Nyack Tree project is seeking donations to help with spring tree planting. Applications are also available for the ML by Maria Luisa Scholarship and several other scholarships administered by the Rockland Community Foundation. And support your local restaurants this week with special food and special discounts as Nyack Feasts.

Nyack Community Solar Informational Meeting
If you haven’t already signed up for the Rockland Community Power 100% renewable energy program and would like to learn more about the program, there will be an online information session to discuss the program and answer your questions on Tue, Feb 16, 2021 from 6:30-7:30p.
For every enrollment in this community solar program, $50 will be donated to a Nyack Sustainability Fund, which will help Nyack raise money for a future sustainability project. Each $50 donation is made by Joule Community Power which administers Rockland Community Power on behalf of the partnering municipalities.
Enrolling in community solar is a way to take action from home, to reduce your electricity bill, and to help support our community and our environment. Since each solar farm can generate only so much power, residents are encouraged to enroll soon before the solar farms become fully subscribed. Please RSVP for virtual meeting details.
