New Gallery Director At V°lition, Sat 9/15 Open Studios at Bell-ans Art Center

Bell-ans Center of Creative Arts invites the public to an open house and closing reception for “Uprising; The Art of Subculture” at the V°LITION on Sat Sept 15 that coincides with the Great Nyack Get Together. Tour the grounds and see the work of Hudson Valley and Bushwick artists which will be on display. Founded in 1897 as a pill factory, Bell-ans has fostered the work of many artists and artisans since the 1960s.

V°lition Gallery Director Sona Viola

Saturday is also a chance to meet Sona Viola, V°LITION’s new Gallery Director. She will be joining forces with owner & founder Phyllis Dodge to co-create with artists, guest curators, for exhibitions, events & productions at the gallery. Viola brings 20 years experience in corporate marketing & event planing along with her continuing entrepreneurial skills as a professional photographer and artist.
“Uprising; The Art of Subculture,” features over 40 participating artists from all over the world, curated by Sona Viola. To attend the open house between 2-6p, catch a shuttle bus from Nyack Memorial Park at the Great Nyack Get Together or drive to the Bell-ans Center of Creative Arts, 4 Bell Lane, Orangeburg NY.
Bell-ans host wellness and youth programs that will also open their doors on Saturdays. The Children’s Shakespeare Theater will be holding rehearsals that will be open to the public and Naomi Camilleri, the founder and owner of Playful Yoga Space will be celebrating her one-year anniversary. Camilleri will be giving free yoga lessons.
