Town of Clarkstown

The town will purchase 4.3 acres of property owned by St. Peter’s Syro-Malankara Catholic Church for $235,000, and develop nature trails that connect to the Long Path and are integrated into Mountainview Nature Park. The purchase of the property prevents the development of a 10,925 square foot structure and a parking lot for 55 spaces, while additionally protecting 2.357 acres of wetlands.

Tappan Zee Bridge News

Major dismantling operations of the Tappan Zee Bridge above River Road in South Nyack/Grandview, including the removal of the old bridge’s abutment have been completed and the road is now re-opened to vehicular traffic and pedestrians. However, this week will again see construction activities which will require overnight lane closures of New York State Thruway (I-87/I-287) southbound/eastbound traffic lanes from exit 11 (Nyack – South Nyack – US Route 9W) to exit 10 (Nyack – South Nyack – US Route 9W) .
Work will also require the overnight closure of the southbound/eastbound Thruway exit 10 on-ramp. Southbound/eastbound drivers will be detoured to the exit 11 on-ramp, shown below.

All four Rockland-bound (northbound/westbound) lanes will remain open during the operation. Specific lane and ramp closure times are listed in the chart below.
