This Week in The Villages: You have two chances to talk back this week. On Tuesday, provide input on Nyack’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program at a public workshop. Then, give your input on the New NY Bridge’s Pedestrian/Bicyclist Shared Use Path. Also, there’s a new Farmers Market in town: pick up produce, honey and pickles on Thursdays in Nyack and Saturdays in Clarkstown.
Village of Nyack
The next Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) public workshop will be held at the American Legion Hall at 85 Piermont Ave at 7:30p on Tuesday. The purpose of these workshops is to create the best plan to upgrade the village’s waterfront. Come out and share your ideas.
Save the Date: The Village of Nyack will hold its Annual Fireworks Display on Tuesday, July 4 at 9p in Memorial Park.
Clarkstown
Clarkstown now has a Farmer’s Market! It will be held every Saturday from 9a to 1p, through Oct 28, at Clarkstown’s historic Traphagen property, located at 131 Germonds Road, West Nyack. Vendors at the market will be selling vegetables, fruits, flowers, herbs, fresh eggs and other farm fresh products.
Save the Date: Clarkstown will hold its Annual Fireworks Display on Thursday, July 29 at the Nanuet High School with festivities beginning at 5p and a concert at 8p.
Tappan Zee Bridge / New NY Bridge
When the New NY Bridge opens in 2018, there will be a dedicated Shared Use Path, across which it will be possible to walk, jog or cycle. The New NY Bridge project team is surveying the community about how they expect to use the path, regarding the health, nature and recreational benefits it can provide to the whole region. Share your thoughts with the New New York Bridge outreach team through their five minute survey.
Work to construct the approaches on both the Rockland and Westchester landings continues this week. Crews will place concrete and install underground structures between the northbound and southbound Thruway lanes in Tarrytown and South Nyack. The work will occur in the center median area and will not require lane closures. With the completion of the westbound towers, the two red tower cranes, which have serviced the construction of the westbound main span, are being removed.
