This Week in The Villages: Last week, Nyack, Upper Grandview and Valley Cottage residents approved their 2017-18 Nyack School District Budget and selected three candidates from a field of five to serve on the board of education. South Nyack received a feasibility study that considers several scenarios for repurposing NYS Thruway Exit 10.
Nyack School Board Election and Budget Vote
On Tuesday, May 16, Nyack voters overwhelmingly passed the $83.1 million 2017-18 School Budget. Newcomer Beth Davidson, and incumbents Jen Marraccino and James Marshall won seats on the Nyack Schools Board of Education. The passed budget is a 2.96 percent increase from the previous year’s budget. ALL current academic, arts, athletic and co-curricular programs are supported in this budget. South Nyack
The draft report of the Village of South Nyack Economic Sustainability Initiative Feasibility Study is now available at SouthNyack.NY.gov. The report looks at various redevelopment options for the 33 acres of Interchange 10 land which the NYS Thruway will turn over to the village when the new Tappan Zee Bridge is completed. These include various combinations of multifamily housing, retail, hotel and medical offices.
