Attn *ALL* Seniors: NyackNewsAndViews Job Opportunities

Looking for something interesting to do where you can exercise your writing skills? Maybe dabble in some sales & marketing and make a little bit of extra cash? Are you looking for an opportunity to show off your photographic and graphic design work, or use some dormant math and analytical skills?

Whether you are thinking about your future career or if you have recently retired from one, consider working with us at Nyack News And Views.

For Students…

This is the time of the year when Nyack News And Views puts out the welcome mat for our high school and college intern program.
It’s a unique job with flexible hours that let’s you earn some publishing cred while making a little extra cash.
Writers are always welcome. But we also need help in sales & marketing. As well a social media and web analytics — people with an interest in learning how to read the internet tea leaves to help us find more ways to serve the community. That means if you have math, spreadsheet or programmer skills, welcome aboard!
There are both volunteer and paid positions, all part time, with flexible work-when-you-can-hours.

For Seniors (and anyone else looking for a “second act”)

Everything you read above about students applies to you too. We don’t want you to feel left out just because you didn’t grow up with a smart phone in your pocket and an Internet connection while learning to “duck and cover” under your desk at school. Your skills, your talents and your experience working in our community — can help Nyack News And Views grow. Just like what we said to the students, if you have time and enthusiasm, it doesn’t *necessarily* need to be a writing. We need help in several departments!

If you are still in school, working with Nyack News And Views is great resume material. It’s also a way to learn more about where you live while learning how to tell stories that gets people’s attention. There’s something here for seniors in school and seniors of life, too (and of course freshmen, sophomores and juniors. And adults who aren’t quite seniors but whose school days are way behind them).
Interested? Email nnaveditors@gmail.com for more information. Tell us what you would like to do, and why you want to do it. We’re looking forward to hearing from you!

If writing’s your thing, here are some examples of the great work by former interns:
