Nyack Window Project: Arts Angels

[URIS id=78064]
Nyack’s Arts Angels gets the last word in our week long series featuring installation in the Nyack Window project, an annual streetscape exhibition that pairs visual artists with local landlords to create original installations in downtown Nyack storefronts.

“Our Finest Gifts We Bring”

— by Nyack High School students Ally Cole, Savaya Kent and Hailey Raab

Ally Cole creates her art through the use of found objects, weaving discarded bottles, shattered compact discs, household items and natural salvage into dramatic sculptures.

Savaya Kent works striking magic with ceramics, producing some incredibly expressive and finely detailed pieces.

Hayley Raab works her artistic alchemy on discarded books, turning them into whimsical and unexpected sculptures.

Arts Angels, the non-profit parent and community organization supporting the arts in Nyack Public Schools, wanted to showcase the works of Nyack High School’s very talented students in a way that everyone in the village could see and appreciate.
Three distinct artists, students of Joe Fusaro, Visual Arts Chair and Sean Sweeney, Visual Arts Instructor at Nyack High School, displayed their work as part of an eclectic mix of gifts in a larger than life advent calendar.

Our Finest Gifts We Bring is on display through the end of January in the windows of the Athene building at the corner of Main Street and Broadway in Nyack. the Art Angels’ entry in the 2016 Nyack Window project was sponsored by Kim-Adele Rosner.
