Hi Tor Animal Care Asks: Can a Downward Dog Help Save a Cat?

“Oooommmmm. Meow!”  That’s what you are likely to hear on Sat July 30 at 3p at a special yoga class benefiting Hi Tor Animal Care Center. Nyack Yoga will open its doors to yoga students and cats who are up for adoption as part of a fundraiser / adoption effort for Hi Tor. Felines will mix with yoga students during the session. The goal is to help these cats find new homes after bonding with potential pet parents through yoga.
Hi Tor Animal Care Center takes in approximately 2,500 animals each year and is the only open-admission shelter in Rockland County. The facility is currently filled to capacity.
The 3p vinyasa class is free but participants are encouraged to donate cat supplies or make a financial donations. Donations will benefit Hi Tor’s Spaying and Neutering Program.
Recommended donations include:

• Higher quality kitten food both canned and dry. (No corn or meat by products can be listed as the first four ingredients)
• Royal Canin BABY CAT dry food
• NON clumping cat litter (the biggest need)
• Money!

Registration is encouraged but drop-ins are OK, too, space permitting. Nyack Yoga is located at Nyack Yoga is located at 42 Main Street.
