Now that springtime weather has arrived, it’s time to get out & about! Celebrate nature with an Earth Day celebration, a paper shredding event, or the Keep Rockland Beautiful campaign. Or enjoy lots of live music, a Game of Thrones party and an artisanal market. Here’s your Fri-Sun list of what to do and where to do it, brought to you by The Arts Council of Rockland and the Union Arts Center.

Friday

• In Revolution, filmmaker Rob Stewart brings the audience on an adventure 3.5 billion years in the making – from the evolution of life to the revolution underway to save us. 7:30p,  Nyack Village Theatre, 94 Main St.
• Hear Mozart’s The Magic Flute fully staged in costume, presented by the Nyack College Opera Workshop. Fri at 8p, Sun at 3p at Nyack College, Pardington Hall, 45 S Boulevard.
• “Winter is coming…” so get ready for the Game of Thrones Viewing Party! Trivia games, contests and a viewing of season five’s final episode. Snacks provided but BYOB so 21 & over only. Prize for best costume. Register here. 8p-10p, Nyack Library, 59 S Broadway.
• The Alpaca Gnomes, a seven piece rock/folk band, perform originals and covers at 10p at Olive’s, 118 Main St, Nyack.

• Earth Day Alert: Join thousands of Rockland County residents who will participate in Keep Rockland Beautiful‘s Great American Cleanup.
• Putting off that massive shredding job? Head to the Paper Shredding Event where Rockland Recycles shreds and recycles for free! Limit: 3 “banker boxes”. 8a – Noon, Germonds Park, 165 W Nyack Rd.
• Enjoy Earth Day at Bear Mountain’s Trailside Museum & Zoo and make treats for the bears, create crafts and take part in kid’s activities! 10:30a – 3p at Bear Mt State Park, 3006 Seven Lakes Dr, Bear Mtn.
• Earth Day Fair brings the community together with activities, scientific demonstrations and talks to raise awareness of environmental issues. Presented by Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory from 1-4p at St Thomas Aquinas College, 125 Rt 340, Sparkill.
• The Rockland Rocks Concert features Country Fresh playing contemporary country and Twisted Tale playing classic rock. Tickets here. 7 – 10p at Rockland Community College, 145 College Rd, Suffern.
• Two Too Old Jerzey Boyz, made up of Ronnie Giles and Paul Speziale, perform classic songs made famous by the likes Frank Sinatra and Glenn Campbell.  7:30p at Nyack Village Theatre, 94 Main St.
• Last chance to check out Where We Are Standing: Contemporary Women Artists from Iran. Three artists who grew up in Iran before moving to North America share a strong cultural identity and a common focus on issues of gender and displacement shaped by the complex political and social landscape of their homeland. Featuring the work of Golnar Adili, Roya Farassat, and Shabnam K. Ghazi. Exhibit runs through April 24.  Wed-Sun 12-6p at the Hopper House Art Center, 82 N Broadway, Nyack.

• Classical pianists Arianna Korting and Robin Giesbrecht return to the Young Masters Recital Series to play duets by Ravel and Schubert. 1:30p at Valley Cottage Library, 110-NY 303.
• Pianist Oxana Mikhailoff performs Dark Fantasies, an afternoon of music including Mozart’s Fantasy in D minor and Chopin’s Fantasy-Impromptu. 3p at Union Arts Center.
• Nyack Business: Long Before the Malls at The Historical Society of the Nyacks Museum features photographs and memorabilia from local businesses in the Time Before The Malls. Open Sundays through May 29. 1p at Depew House, 50 Piermont Ave.
• Learn about the Hudson Valley’s Dutch origins dating back to the 1600’s at the Dutchtown and Major Andre: Highlights of Haverstraw History exhibit, presented by the Historical Society of Rockland and the Town of Haverstraw.
