When I moved to Nyack about two years ago, I was impressed with how many creative and talented people lived within the village as well as all the entrepreneurs working from the coffee shops around town. Just about a year ago, I started looking for commercial office space around the village which could be used as a co-shared working space. I found the perfect location at 40 Lydecker Street in the beautiful brick Transocean building overlooking the Hudson River. The building has a special place in Nyack’s history as the old Rockland Light & Power building, where big utility trucks and equipment were housed on the same floors a century ago.
What makes Share Space Nyack so special is that it allows entrepreneurs and small business owners the ability to rent out a desk at a fraction of the price of renting a full traditional office space. The renters then share all of the common office amenities with the rest of the users such as the copier, kitchen, conference room, photo shoot area, coffee maker, lounge, etc. It also provides small businesses with an address and a special space where they are proud to bring their clients to.
