Everyone in the Nyack community has a voice in our school district’s ongoing pursuit of educational excellence. The Nyack Public Schools Community Priorities Survey has launched, and candid feedback from all community members is requested and encouraged. Under the leadership of Dr. James Montesano, Superintendent of Nyack Public Schools, administrators and a collaborative leadership team are looking for feedback regarding what knowledge, skills and character a graduate of Nyack High School must possess in order to be successful in a changing and increasingly complex world.
We want your input on where we should focus our efforts to best prepare our students for life after high school. We also want to know what we’re doing well and what we can improve. The 21 question survey probes into your priorities and how they align with our district’s current initiatives. It is provided in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole, and includes a section designed to assess how to improve district-wide communication. It is important to the district to hear from all types of families; every voice matters.
A few minutes of your valued time is all that is needed to take this survey. But please, fill it out thoughtfully.
Copies of the survey in all three languages can be found at the Nyack and Valley Cottage Libraries respectively or in the main offices of all five District schools. Please return your completed copy to the Public Relations Office in the Administration Building (13A Dickinson Avenue in Nyack), by Monday, December 21st, when the survey closes.
Answers are confidential. Final reports will include the overall results and will not identify individuals. After the survey closes, we will share the findings and specific steps that will be taken as a result of your feedback.
Looking forward, Nyack Public Schools is committed to engaging in an ongoing, two-way dialogue focused on providing our students with the best possible education. We want to build upon the investment of time, talent, and trust that you – the Nyack community – have already placed in our schools. The most important outcome is making a positive difference in the lives of each and every student that walks through our hallways.
