Rowing…Rowing…Rowing By The River For The Nyack Center

by Owen Voutsinas-Klose

Go it alone or join a team at Pull With Purpose, a fundraiser for the Nyack Center on Mar 21 sponsored by the River Rowing Association.

Participants compete on rowing machines taking turns with other team members.  Last year, the RRA raised $15,000 for the Nyack Center. All equipment is provided and anyone can join. There is no registration fee, but all participants must raise at least $75 in donations for the Nyack Center.

The two hour relay race is open to 5-person teams competing for most meters rowed on indoor rowing machines. Winning teams receive prizes. Larger teams are permitted (and encouraged) in non-racing categories.

You don’t need to know how to row. In fact, the River Rowing Team coaches will be giving demonstrations during the registration period before the Row-a-thon gets underway.

Registration is at 8a and the race runs from 9-11a. The Nyack Center is located at the corner of Depew and S. Broadway.
