Snow Day Two: Trash, Recycling, Parking in Nyack

SnowNyackDPW20101227Nyack, Tues Jan 27 –The Village of Nyack Snow Emergency will be lifted at 11a. Cars may return to residential neighborhoods within the emergency boundaries and along emergency routes.

Trash pickup in the Village of Nyack will be cancelled until further notice because of the Mon Jan 26 snow storm. Residents who would like to dispose of trash can do so at the Department of Public Works located at 63 Catherine Street.  Dumpsters will be labeled to indicate recycling or trash.

Transport of Rockland, Tappan Zee Express Buses Schedule

TZx buses will resume service on Tues 1/27 at 1p using a Saturday schedule. TOR buses will operate on a regular weekday schedule beginning at 1p. Visit RocklandBus.com for transit updates.

If you were scheduled to put out recycling on Wed Jan 28, hold your refuse until Saturday, Jan 31, when the DPW will pick up recycling.

Village officials are pleading with residents not to push snow from their sidewalks and driveways into the street. “All residents and businesses should note that it is illegal to push snow from your property into village roadways,” says a Tues morning advisory at Nyack-NY.gov. “If you hire a contractor to perform this task for you, please ask them to find a location on your property for snow storage or ask them to remove the snow from your property.”
