No Doze on the NYS Thruway on New Year’s Eve: The Thruway Authority is serving free coffee and hot tea to travelers along the New York State Thruway on New Year’s Eve at each of the 27 Thruway service areas from 11p on Wed until 7a New year’s Day. This is the 44th year for New Year’s Eve free coffee and tea on the Thruway.

Village of Nyack residents: Your Thursday trash pickup happens one day early on Wednesday due to the New Year’s holiday. Village Hall closes at 12:30p on Wed and will reopen on Friday Jan 2 at 9a. Also: despite rumors to the contrary, there will be no fireworks to welcome in the New Year this year.

Village of South Nyack residents: Recyclables will be picked up on Friday Jan 2.
