Nyack, Orangetown, Clarkstown and Rockland County will observe the anniversary of the September 11th with special ceremonies.
- Nyack’s ceremonies will be held at Memorial Park on the Hudson River beginning at 6p.
- The Orangetown 9/11 Ceremony takes place at the 9/11 Memorial in front of the Orangetown Town Hall at 6p. The names of the Rockland residents who lost their lives as a result of the attack will be read by local religious leaders and representatives from fire, emergency, and veterans groups. Musical tributes will be offered by the Pearl River High School Glee Club and by local singer/songwriter Joe D’Urso.
- Clarkstown will hold a Remembrance Ceremony at 5p at the 9/11 Memorial in the park immediately adjacent to Clarkstown Town Hall. The names of the Rockland County individuals who perished will be read by Supervisor Alex Gromack, Town Council Members and the Clarkstown Police Chief.
- Rockland County Executive Ed Day, Legislative Chairman Alden Wolfe and other local officials at Haverstraw Bay County Park will observe the thirteenth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks at Haverstraw Bay County Park. Prayer and song will pause for a moment of silence at 8:46a. At 9:03a, the names of the 81 Rockland County victims of the 2001 and 1993 World Trade Center attacks will be read.
