Updated Aug 11 — An on-duty Nyack parking enforcement officer has been charged with attempted murder in an early Saturday morning stabbing in Nyack that has left a man in critical condition, according to Orangetown Police.

On Monday 8/11, the Orangetown identified the victim as Frank Delorenzo, a 27 year-old resident of Chestnut Ridge NY.

Kenneth Byre, 32, of Upper Depew Avenue, Nyack, one of Nyack’s parking enforcement officers, and Gregory Dubuisson, 29, of Washington Street, Nyack, are being held in the Rockland County Correctional Facility in New City pending a hearing. They were arrested during an investigation by Orangetown Police into a 2:15a stabbing on Franklin Street in Nyack.

The Journal News reports that the Nyack parking employee has been suspended and placed on administrative leave until a full investigation is completed.

Police said town officers were alerted to a man down on Artopee Way in downtown Nyack.
