Everything’s Coming Up Roses on (South) Broadway

by Ray Wright

Thirty-four years ago my wife and I decided to dig out woody evergreen bushes around our Victorian porch at Wright Brothers Real Estate and replace them with roses and perennial flower gardens. If you ride by 53 Broadway the roses around the porch are 34 years old and the only work has been occasional trimming. The branches aren’t standing as tall, but it’s great that the new roses keep coming.
