The 2014 outdoor Nyack Farmers’ Market season opens on Thursday April 3 — a full month earlier than last year. Just in case you needed some reassurance that Spring has finally arrived.
The market will be open for business every Thursday through November 26 from 8a until 2p in the municipal parking lot on Main Street. Free parking is available for shoppers in the Artopee lot adjacent to the Farmers’ Market.
Attracting upwards of 1,000 shoppers every Thursday, the Market’s 22 vendors offer a broad array of local products. The Nyack Farmers’ Market also features weekly entertainment, including live music performed by local artists, as well as other activities such as face painting, caricatures and visits from local health and wellness providers.
Orangetown Supervisor Andy Stewart will officially open the season with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:45a. Acoustic guitarist/vocalist Jesse Frayne takes the stage from 11a-1p and Silly Pencil will create caricatures during the performance.
Can’t make it every Thursday? The Nyack Chamber of Commerce has you covered. Beginning on June 7, there will be a Saturday Farmers’ Market, too.
