Animal rights advocates were shocked to hear Russian Olympics officials were killing stray dogs before the Sochi Winter games began to make sure these owner-less pets didn’t interfere with the games. Some of their worst fears proved to be well founded when a dog wandered into the opening ceremonies and another greeted skiers at the cross country competition.
Cartoonist Dan White had a few thoughts about how the Russian pooch population might leave their mark on the Sochi Winter Olympics, perhaps inspiring some new Olympic events.
