Heartshapped FootballHere’s something everyone can look forward to this weekend which will appeal to both the football fan and those who couldn’t care less about the Big Game on Feb 2.

The Saturday before Super Sunday just happens to be the first day of Heart Disease Awareness Month.  On Sat Feb 1 restaurants in Nyack will offer heart healthy drinks, lunches and dinners as part of the A Village With Heart. Merchants will offer special items and promotions for your heart throb in anticipation of Valentine’s Day.

One dollar of every purchase will be donated by each participating businesses to the American Heart Association along with customer donations for hearts, pins, etc. There will also be cool tee-shirts to commemorate the event.

On Feb  7 , The Heart Association Glow Red Day, over 40 businesses including Village Hall have agreed to light up their windows in red.

An group exhibition of heart-themed artwork, “Have A Heart” will open at the p.ross boutique, 89 Main St on February 1st.
