The third annual old-fashioned Family Barn Dance , an evening of contra dancing and live fiddle music, will take place at the Congers Lake Memorial Park Auditorium located at 6 Gilchrest Road in Congers, NY on Friday, November 8, from 7-9p.  All proceeds benefit the Ruth Schaeffer Scholarship Fund at Blue Rock School in West Nyack.

This foot-stompin’ family event always draws a crowd. Children are welcome and no previous dance experience is necessary. Renowned dance caller, Eric Hollman, will lead the way as guests keep step to live, traditional fiddle tunes from Ireland, Appalachia, New England and beyond. This year’s musical lineup includes two very talented folk musicians— Neil Pearlman on piano and Naomi Morse on fiddle.

The event is open to the public. Admission is $10 per person and tickets will be sold at the door. There will be a raffle for all ages and refreshments for sale including freshly popped popcorn, as well as cider, apples and donuts from The Orchards of Concklin.

The dance is being sponsored by Fairway Market in Nanuet and Weld Realty of Nyack. All proceeds will benefit the Ruth Schaeffer Scholarship Fund at Blue Rock School in West Nyack.
