“Music Is Life” Vote, For Students to Win $10,000

by Nyack Musicworks

Fri Feb 15 is the last day for the general public to vote for Nyack High School’s Music Department in the national “Music Is Life.” One vote is permitted for each email address.

The Nyack High School’s Music Department has entered the National Educational Music Company’s Music is Life contest. This contest will be decided by public vote. The winner of the grand prize will receive $10,000 in musical instruments and a check for $1000 for the music program. If Nyack wins this contest, the prize will go toward the scholarship program, which, among other things like lessons, provides instruments to students whose families cannot buy or rent on their own.

Watch this excerpt of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4, 1st Movement performed by the Nyack High School Symphony Orchestra. The NHS Symphony Orchestra is comprised of all of the students in string orchestra and chamber orchestra with select woodwinds, brass and percussion players in grades 9-12.

Follow this link to see the entries and cast your vote. Then spread the word! Voting ends Feb. 15th. One vote per valid email address.
