There’s no shortage of memorable images from the past year — some sweet, some sad and a few which we hope to never see again. We scoured our archives and asked the help of some local photographers to tell the story of 2012. “Weather” is the first part of a three part series covering the year in photos and images.
Starting with an early snow last January, Mother Nature was in the news throughout the year. Many residents and business are still hurting from Hurricane Sandy which wrecked havoc on the river villages, southeast NY and most of New Jersey in late October. Thanks to photographers Alissa Perrez, Colin Heasman and Richard Kavesh for many of the following pictures.
