Americorps is looking a few good men. And women, too.
Young adults 21 and older can apply for one of four trainer assistant jobs. These paid part-time community service opportunities are part of the Youth Employment Program, T.E.E.N. Works. Members will serve 300-hours from March until August of this year.
For their service, members receive a $2,115 living stipend and a $1,132 educational award for 300 hours of service as a Trainer Assistant. The education award can be used to pay towards college tuition or a qualified student loan. Members also receive training, ability to network and the experience of working with a spectrum of youth development professionals to add to their resume. This is a wonderful opportunity for college/graduate students and youth advocates who want to make a difference in the lives of young people.
Potential candidates must be available Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Additional weekdays and some weekends may be required. Qualifications are a minimum of an Associates Degree and six months work experience. Candidates need to have flexibility, be a self-starter, show attention to detail, and act as a role model for all program participants.
Members will take on responsibilities of delivering curriculum on workforce readiness, life skills and conduct assessments and reporting.
