Nyack, Sept 11 — Nyack, Orangetown, Clarkstown and Rockland County will observe the 10th anniversary of September 11th with special ceremonies today.
- Nyack’s ceremonies will take place at Veterans’ Park at the corner of Main Street and Cedar Street in downtown Nyack beginning at 8:45a.
- The Orangetown 9/11 Ceremony takes place at the 9/11 Memorial in front of the Orangetown Town Hall at 11:30a.
- Clarkstown will hold a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at the memorial in the park immediately adjacent to Town Hall on at 5p.
- Rockland County’s memorial ceremony begins at 8:30a at Haverstraw Bay County Park.
The Stony Point Ambulance Corps has posted a list of Rockland residents who died on September 11 including Welles Remy Crowther from Upper Nyack. Crowther has become known as “The Man in the Red Bandanna” for his courageous actions that saved many lives on September 11, 2001. The Welles Remy Crowther Charitable Trust will present the 10th Annual Concert for Remembrance next Sunday (9/18) at 5p at the Grace Episcopal Church, in Nyack in memory of the victims and heroes lost on September 11, 2001.
